This is an excellent AMD processor. I used to be an Intel lover but I think I’ve turned to AMD. I’m very pleased with the last 2 CPUs I’ve purchased.
Read instructions carefully before installation. They are very clear but you don’t want to screw a $200 CPU.
It’s usually very quiet.
The only con I have is that when you do high consuming processes (or video games) the fan turns a little noisy.
The good thing is you never feel it’s overheating.

Will this mobo work well with AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition?
I’m new to building PCs and am planning on building myself a new system. I am building a PC that is going to be used primarily for gaming. Here is my build that I am going with so far:RAIDMAX Sirius ATX-701WS :http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811156061ASUS M4A78 PRO AM2+/AM2 AMD :http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131362AMD Phenom II X4 Amd Phenom Ii X4 955 955 Black Edition :http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103674RAIDMAX AURORA 2 RX-600F 600W :http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817152031CORSAIR 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 :http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145215Western Digital Caviar Black WD5001AALS 500GB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA :http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136320LG 22X DVD±R DVD Burner with LightScribe Black IDE Model GH22LP20 :http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827136147Radeon HD 4890 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express :http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102831If anyone feels the need to point something out, please don’t hesitate to do so. Convenient info on Center Quad core

gaming-desktop-computers Convenient info on Center Quad core

as stated above put 7 0r xp on it and you will be happy for Everyday computing use as HP calls it.not real good for gaming no overclock am2 board so upgrades are limited memory is good up to 8gb ddr2.only one pci express x16 bad spacing for pci and cables, also as usual usb2.0 are not high speed doubt you will see speeds over 20MBs.fire wire is no better hard drive is 500bg pretty small not much for upgrade cable or power wise.I do like the processor very cool and strong can do real multitasking without pause or lag, I tested against one of the new Core i3-330ms it destroys the poser.amusingly enough the 330 actually froze up for 3-5 seconds uninstalling software and changing user accounts no big task.also boot time and app exec are much better on AMD even though it is 2+yrs older and much cheaper.yes I do realize laptops are a bit less powerful due to limitations in heat dispersal and space.also intel hd graphics is a joke not a funny one either my couple year old budget card laps it

Quad-Core thermal paste application?
Well I’ve pretty much rebuild my PC, and am not particularly newbie to hardware installation, but this is my first time transferring and replacing a CPU, and Center Quad core I’m wondering what the best way to apply the delicious paste is.I have watched http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ffK7L0Qj13Q and it seems that as per Arctic Silver’s instructions, a line of paste down the center of the processor is the best way. But most internet forums advocate spreading, which the Arctic Silver instructions explicitly tell me not to do.So, Yahoo, what do you recommend?
